the problem is these folks with cardboard and foil halos, do not embrace being human. it's the same platonic crap from the Bible as the above story all coming from Paul's ideas... not at all the teachings of Jesus, whom Paul never met. it's this unhuman perfect ideal way to be, that no one will ever be. these folks want to make themselves out as little pious gods, beware the seriphic show, and expect others to do the same. well, that always when suppressed comes out sideways. SSSOOO much of this comes from a religion invented by Paul not from a loving way preached by Jesus.
Yes there's a different focus between the Gospels and the Epistles . . . a distinct difference in tone and emphasis between Jesus and Paul.
Paul does write some beautiful or deeply thoughtful passages sometimes. But other times, he sounds just like any Southern Baptist backwoods preacher today. So does St. Augustine, for that matter . . . it's all about control, control, control - of other people.
Paul at one point even loses it and essentially says he wishes the nasty Jews giving him a hard time would get their balls cut off! I'm not making this up - find an interlinear translation of Galatians 5:12 - which you can hardly imagine Jesus ever saying.
