I hope you're right. I hope she takes the next four years, relaxes a bit, let's the public get to know the softer side of Hillary. And then runs. She is one of the most intelligent politicians ever and I was horribly disappointed that she didn't get the nomination in 2008. - Uptonking from Wonderland Burlesque

I quite agree, I think she would make an excellent candidate, are there any serious contenders?

No, others would surely put their names forward and might run against her for the nomination. But there's no one else with her stature and appeal on the Democratic side - a stature now weightily bolstered by her experience as Secretary of State, in addition to her time as Senator from New York. Can't touch that.

I voted for Hillary in the 2008 primary too. Obama was an unknown to me, who suddenly seemed to materialize in the midst of the Democratic field - a real dark horse. Grin.

He's done as fine a job as anyone could expect, given the incalcitrant, nearly treasonous efforts of the Republicans to thwart his every single initiative and the basic functions of the Presidency itself. Much of this stemmed from an initial naivete on his part about the possibilities of bilateral cooperation and compromise.

I would hope that Hillary would have no such misgivings, and would say, a la Joan Crawford: "Don't fuck with me, fellas!" In a polite way, of course - but mean it.

But - Hillary if elected would be 69 when she took office. (Reagan was 70, for comparison.) Certainly she seems eager and willing to grab for the brass ring, but it's a mighty tough job for someone to embark upon in their 70's. More power to her, if she does.
