Waitin' for the Weekend

Something different: the members of the Brighton Swimming Club assembled in all their, uh, finery on the beach in 1863. And you thought the Victorians were all stuffy and humorless.

Tim said...: Yes, Brighton is still a gay mecca, but it has rivals now in London (of course), Manchester and Blackpool. Brighton has always had a 'racy' character since being a favorite residence of the then Prince Regent, later George IV, bit the gay connection is more recent, perhaps the 1950's?; October 27, 2012 at 7:58 AM
