Discovered by your Head Trucker while surfing the 'net: A curious form of eucalyptus, used most often for pulpwood production in the Phillippines. It sheds pieces of its bark at different times, revealing first a bright green inner bark, which later turns to blue, purple, orange, and maroon. How pretty.

General Franco ordered huge tracts of eucalyptus trees to be planted in Spain, as a cash crop. Unfortunately, they weren't this species, just the basic brown and green ones, secondly, they took the moisture out of the soil, which then eroded, so no trees and nothing else either! Oh, the folly of man!
Unintended consequences; a pity.
It does seem that in every picture of Spain, it's a dry and dusty, desert sort of land. It's never looked terribly inviting to me.
Russ, Try looking at pictures of Asturias and Galicia, no dry, dusty deserts there!
