Today's Toons: Donelan

Back in the Dark Ages, long before there was the intertoobs - or any other way for small-town gays to meet other gays, or even know there were any others on the planet - I used to subscribe to The Advocate.  I remember fondly the charmingly satirical cartoons of Donelan that were a regular feature, some of which I just ran across.

Ah, the more things change, the more they stay the same, isn't that so, fellas?

Great post and yes, I remember Stonewall but was still too scared to be out and proud back then.

I remember reading about Stonewall in 10th grade - like Leslie Jordan says, I was repelled . . . but fascinated. Actually, that particular year was when I put together the words "me" and "homosexual." Oh. It was nothing to be proud of where I lived at that time, and for a long time after.

I certainly remember it and was tentatively out - to my friends at least. My parents would have to wait much longer...
