I never heard of this event before, but what a great idea! It started in Katmai National Park in Alaska in 2014, and now attracts millions of spectators and voters. I wanted to send in our names for the competition, but M.P. won't let me. Spoilsport.

I'd vote for that human bear any day. Kidding aside, we here in our little town in New Mexico have had bears raiding trash cans for several weeks. The prolonged drought has forced them out of the wilderness to search for food among us because there is so little to eat in their natural habitat. They are not fat enough for winter.
The human bear is studly as hell. But I have never seen such huge biceps in my life - I wonder if the pic hasn't been altered somehow.
But you have real bears in the neighborhood? OMG. If they're getting into the trash cans, they'll be getting into your house next. Hope you guys have a shotgun or two handy.
