Sunday Drive: Mozart, Serenade in G Major, 4th Movement

A favorite of mine, and so fitting for the merry month of May. Crank it up.

Of course, what Mozart is trying to tell us in this sublime piece is that the transient effect of mankind may be enhanced by unified action, Das Real Politik writ large in musical terms. Nietzche meant something similar when he said God is dead, meaning long live mankind. This would be hilarious if it weren't so quirky. Do I jest, no, but Russell surely teases us!

What are you on about? Gone all Brahms and Liszt on cheap Sangria again, have you? And on a Sunday too, more's the pity.
