"Hope can be the consequence of action, not just its cause."
Bonus: In this opinion piece for The Atlantic, conservative gay author and political analyst Jonathan Rauch says its okay to use the F-word now: "Yes, It's Fascism"
Also well worth your time: another Atlantic piece about "The Four Types of Trump Supporter" and the different ways he appeals to each type.

I'm not sure if Pete's voice is being heard lately. And that sure is a long article. I will skim through it.
OK. I read the whole thing. Thanks for posting. It is terrifying and disturbing but Rauch seems to temper the threat at the end of his essay. I'm not that optimistic.
What Rauch doesn't mention, or mentions only briefly are the fellow fascists like Noem, Miller, Bondi, Leavitt, etc. and the republican sycophants in congress who are either to dumb to see what's happening or are acting according to a crazed ideology which demonizes anything that hints of liberal, socialist, democratic principles or actions.
You just made me realize I should have included a link to another piece about "The Four Types of Trump Supporter," which I've just added a link to in my post. It's based on surveys and interviews with 10,000 people, and it sure does explain a lot. See what you think.
P. S.. - Pete is a good man, a fine man, sane and sensible man. It's always refreshing to hear him talk. But though I think the hand of Destiny may be on his shoulder, part of me wishes he would just stay safe in that little town at the far end of Michigan, raise his kids in peace and quiet, and stay out of the hellstorm of politics for now. I'd rather see him emerge as the healer-in-chief than the warrior.
