Something is killing hundreds of millions of bees, and nobody knows why. CBS News reports:
What CBS does not report is that last year, there were a record 3.8 million bee colonies in the United States. So why the big die-out? Scientists are on the case, but since the Tyrant just shut down research at the USDA, Cornell University is picking up the work.
I recall that ten or twenty years ago, the bee decline was in the news, and after a long interval of research, it was determined that a certain pesticide was responsible. So I thought that had been taken care of - but here we are again.
This massive die-out is really bad news. If the bees die, we die. No bees, no crops, no food - result, famine and starvation. Then goodbye, human race and life as we know it on Planet Earth.

So sorry I can’t keep up. Heard about the bees. Dug the garden on Saturday and hurt my back again. I keep reminding myself that I am old.
We are feeling our age here too. I don't think M.P. will be doing much gardening this year - his garden is much smaller than yours, just some flowers and herbs - and we will have tg find a lawn man to cut the grass. A trip through the grocery store and back wears me out. It's hell getting old! Hang in there.
