The Royal Navy Wants YOU

This just in:  Christmas greetings from the officers and crew of HMS Ocean, formerly the flagship of the Royal Navy.

Most amusing, to be sure. But more than that, I dare not say.

Well, hello there.

It’s called a Sod’s Opera (sic) performed by a ship’d crew (all ranks) at Christmas time or any convenient event, such as the end of a patrol or cruise. Something akin to a theatrical pantomime. It’s all rather British, and keeps the men occupied rather than mutinous. Grin!

Hmmm. So this is a thing in Blighty? Well I declare. I suppose Nelson can go on resting in peace now.

(But I still think it's a boatload of poofters!)
