The Two Trumps

After Trump's address to Congress last night, Hardball with Chris Matthews featured comedian-commentator Bill Maher, actor-director Rob Reiner, and filmmaker Michael Moore discussing the presidential rhetoric and its deceptive purpose.








Factcheck.org exposes the falsehoods in Trump's speech, which was larded with lies:

Unfortunately his base is still completely taken in by his lies and hyperbole and love every minute of it. They now praise him for being "presidential" when all he did was read a speech that was written for him without going off on a twitter spasm. More dangerous than ever.

Yes. And I expect that when the God-fearing, flag-waving base discover just how far he has betrayed this country into Putin's hands, their fulsome adulatation will turn to furious hatred in a heartbeat. But all that comes in Act III, and we're still in the middle of Act I.
