A few highlights from our little feast. The menu:
- Deviled eggs
- Potato salad
- Baked beans
- Steamed cabbage with carrots, onions, bacon, and Ro-Tel tomatoes and peppers
- Sweet Stuffed Piglets, actually braised pork loin sliced thin and wrapped around a stuffing of root vegetables spiced with cinnamon and sugar
- Butter cross biscuits
- White Zinfandel
- Coffee with chicory, from Café du Monde in New Orleans
- Tiramisu, made with pound cake, rum, Kahlua, coconut, chocolate bits, and whipped cream
It was lovely. I tell you what.
