Public schools are really private schools in Britain, as Siobhan Thompson explains:
BTW, your Head Trucker totally loves the idea of studying just one subject in college, and getting out in only three years. Would have saved me much time, expense, and grief in my youth.

What I think we really need to remember is that when we hear all about 'failing US schools' when compared to other countries, it's a like comparing apples to oranges, or more like bananas to onions. The entire systems are different from start to finish.
Actually, the Brits carry on about "failing schools" in the UK as much as we do. All has to do with a lack of home training, but nobody (i.e., parents) wants to admit that.
Comments are welcome, but please note: this is not a public forum but my personal blog, which nobody is forced to read. You don't like what I write, go find a blog you do like; there are millions of others to choose from. Or write your own.
Polite disagreement is one thing, but rudeness will be deleted without hesitation.
