Flight from Winter

To Florida via DC-3, circa 1940:

If you are ever in Florida, boys, you certainly should not miss taking a glass-bottom boat ride at Silver Springs, or strolling through the beautiful grounds of Cypress Gardens. Just lovely - or at least they were forty years ago, when I visited.

Where does the time go?

Lovely film, I see they made it to Casa Marina as well! I wonder if they met the other family? The lovely Hialeah race course in Miami is sadly no longer what it once was. I remember water-skiing displays being put on in the central lake in between horse races when I visited in the 70's, I think I won $50! Interesting how undeveloped all the airfields were in those days, civil aviation was still in it's infancy.

Yes, and did you notice the shot of the old Pan Am seaplane base at Dinner Key in Miami? Now the Miami City Hall. I'm glad they saved the building for a good purpose.
