Strange, but this tune has comic connotations in English humour. It is often played to images of Edwardian ladies wearing only the tight undergarments of the day and disporting themselves in various statuesque poses under rose covered arbours. Just saying! ;)

It's been used a thousand comic skits over here too, as well as cartoons. But after over an hour of tedious searching, I chose this vid as the least of evils - all the rest were badly played or badly imaged. When played at a quicker tempo, say 2 minutes instead of 3, it produces a very upbeat effect. Still, it serves to remind folks that it was not written as a comedy piece, and stands nicely on its own.
