Same-sex Weddings Begin in D. C.

Same-sex couples began marrying today in the nation's capital, under the new equal-marriage law that took effect last week.  Place your cursor over the photo to view the caption.  Congrats to all the newlyweds.

Great achievement for DC! Congrats to the happy couples.

I hope more states will follow suit soon. For some, it may be soon, for others it will undoubtedly be later (or maybe never).

CO used to be quite the red state, but it turned blue last election. Now, I don't know...we're looking kinda purple lately with the brownish tinge of old teabag stains here and there.

Maybe we'll get there one of these days.

And to think just across the river in VA the Republican govenor is rolling back on gay rights/discrimination laws. This is why we need a federal law or Supreme court ruling. But that won't happen with the Bush/Cheney appointees. UGH!
